With 88,813 people at the 2021 census, Nuneaton is the largest town in Warwickshire; with Bulkington and Hartshill counted in, the built-up area held 99,372.
Much of it dates from after the war. The 1950s brought about 2,500 council homes, 1,400 of them at Camp Hill by 1956. Private estates later spread across Weddington, St Nicolas Park, Whitestone and Stockingford.
King Edward VI College, which began as a grammar school under a royal charter of 1552, is the town's sixth form college. The county council has proposed a Nuneaton Parkway station between Nuneaton and Hinckley.
