The River Stowe, a tributary of the Itchen, rises at Napton-on-the-Hill and meets the Itchen at Stoneythorpe just outside Southam. A great fire in 1741 destroyed so much that few of the town's buildings are older.
A town of about 8,000 has few family-sized short stays, so households displaced by water or fire often look to Coventry, up the A423.
Our nearest house to Southam is Humber Hub, about 12 miles by road. Each house has a bed for everyone, a kitchen and a washing machine.
Insurers and loss adjusters can book for the household, with the claim reference on a pro-forma paid before arrival.
