Daventry's schooling goes back to 1576, when the woollen draper William Parker founded a grammar school; its schoolhouse of about 1600 still stands on New Street.
For degrees, Daventry students look east to the University of Northampton or west along the A45 to Coventry University and the University of Warwick.
Our nearest house to Coventry University is Stoke Lodge, next door to Stoke House, about a mile by road. Coventry University had 29,505 students in 2024/25; the Warwick campus lies a few miles further out on the city's south-west edge.
For graduation week a whole house keeps the family together, with breakfast at home and free parking.
