View propertyWhen the Leam rises
The River Leam crosses the middle of Leamington from east to west and floods in extreme weather; 1998 and 2007 were especially bad. The 1998 flood badly damaged Jephson Gardens, later restored with National Lottery money.
Leamington Priors, the old village, stood south of the Leam; the Georgian New Town grew up north of it from the early 19th century. From the Regency terraces of Clarendon Square and Lansdowne Circus to Heathcote and Warwick Gates, any home can be put out of use by fire, storm or water.
Our nearest house to Leamington is Humber Hub, about 9 miles by road. A whole house gives each person a bed, a kitchen for proper meals and a washing machine for weeks on end.
Claims handlers and loss adjusters can book for the household; the claim reference goes on a pro-forma paid before arrival and an overrun is covered by a fresh one, up to twelve months in all.
