In 1872 Major Henry Gem and Augurio Pereira started the first lawn tennis club anywhere, in Leamington. Two years later the game's modern rules were written at Leamington Tennis Club. The town can also claim the oldest real tennis court built for the purpose.
Each year the national lawn bowls finals are played on the greens of the town's bowling club in Victoria Park. More than 12,000 objects fill the art gallery and museum inside the Royal Pump Rooms.
Since 1978 the free Peace Festival has taken over the Pump Room Gardens; the Spa Centre is theatre and cinema in one and summer brings open-air plays to Jephson Gardens.
Humber Hub takes ten, Stoke Lodge and Stoke House nine apiece and Sullivan Heights six. Each booking is a whole house; the houses take no parties or events and no smoking indoors.
