Hinckley has rebuilt before. On 16 May 1941 a bombing raid killed eleven people in Merevale Avenue, the worst attack in the county outside Leicester, on the night Nuneaton was heavily bombed.
Most claims now follow an escape of water, a kitchen fire or a storm. Households in Wykin, Middlefield or Burbage want to keep their school and their journey to work.
Our nearest house to Hinckley is Sullivan Heights, about 11 miles by road. Arriva runs buses from its Barwell depot to Leicester, Burbage, Earl Shilton and Nuneaton for a family short of a car.
The insurer, the loss adjuster or the policyholder can book, with the claim reference on a pro-forma paid before arrival. On a wet weekend, Coventry Transport Museum has more than 240 cars and commercial vehicles to see.
