Coal and ribbon weaving built Bedworth. Specialist making survives: Toye, Kenning & Spencer still produces hats, caps, banners, flags, medal ribbons and Masonic regalia in the town.
Most industry sits on the Bayton Road estate at Exhall. Brose, the German supplier of car components to some 80 vehicle makers, has its UK factory there. Premiere Group, which presses sheet metal mainly for the motor industry, made the 12,000 Olympic torches for London 2012.
