Where JLR's batteries come together

JLR's Battery Assembly Centre is on Canton Lane at Hams Hall, in North Warwickshire near Coleshill. The company's visitor page calls it the manufacturing home of the battery units for its next generation of electric vehicles.

The ambition is large. By JLR's figures the centre will, at capacity, use 4 million battery cells in production every day, which it totals at 900 million a year.

Hams Hall was in the first wave of JLR's return to work in autumn 2025. The restart began there and at the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre on 8 October 2025, with the stamping shops and vehicle lines following.

Battery assembly relies on specialists who come and go with each phase: commissioning engineers, robotics contractors, supplier quality teams and logistics staff. A furnished house booked for the length of the job suits anyone staying more than a few nights.
