View propertyA medieval university and a modern one
Henry III founded a University of Northampton by royal charter in 1261 and suppressed it in 1265 after its members backed Simon de Montfort; it would otherwise have been England's third oldest. The name returned in 2005, when University College Northampton gained university status.
The university's Waterside campus by the Nene replaced its older sites in 2018. Moulton College, just north of the town, teaches land-based subjects, sport and construction.
For a student in Coventry, our nearest house to Coventry University is Stoke Lodge, beside Stoke House, about a mile by road; the University of Warwick is a few miles further out.
A moving-in weekend or a graduation is simpler with a whole house: beds for everyone, breakfast at home and a parking space for a car full of boxes.
