Stoke Aldermoor is a suburb in south-eastern Coventry, beside the River Sowe, with Stoke to the north, Whitley to the south-west and Ernesford Grange to the east. The small estate beside Pinley Fields is known as Pinley.

During the Second World War the Rootes No 1 Shadow Factory here built scout cars, tank engines, truck engines and aero engines. The site later became Peugeot's UK head office until 2008, when the company moved to new premises a short distance away in Pinley. The Mini sewer chase in The Italian Job (1969) was filmed here. So were the outside shots of Daisy and Onslow's house in Keeping Up Appearances.

Stoke Aldermoor sits in the city council ward of Lower Stoke, the same part of the city as Humber Hub.

Whitley, to the south-west, is a major centre for Jaguar Land Rover, including the company's headquarters. The original Armstrong Whitworth aircraft factory was there and Whitley was home to Coventry Zoo from 1966 until 1980.

Whitley Abbey, a grand house built in the 14th century, once gave Whitley its identity. A David Lloyd Leisure complex, first built in 1983, now stands on the old zoo site.
