Abbotts Park is planned for land on Abbotts Lane that the developer, Complex Development Projects, bought from National Grid; it has been empty since 2012. The council's project record lists up to 700 apartments, 700 square metres of commercial space and a new public park.
The design was redrawn to be greener. Parking goes underneath the buildings so that a linear park can run through the whole site.
Between October 2025 and July 2026 four applications for Abbotts Lane and Upper Hill Street went through the register, including amendments and condition sign-offs on the former Transco depot.
