Lye is a town in the Dudley borough, about two miles east of Stourbridge, bordering Pedmore and Wollescote. It was famous for the manufacture of nails, anvils, vices, chain, crucibles and firebricks.

Lye railway station is on the Birmingham to Worcester via Kidderminster line. Lye Town FC has played in the West Midlands Regional League since 1947, the Lye and Wollescote Cemetery has a pair of grade II listed chapels and the actor Cedric Hardwicke was born here.

Lye Waste was settled by families who gained freehold rights by building a home within 24 hours. Lye became a separate civil parish in 1866 and the Lye ward had 12,346 residents at the 2011 census.

Lye is counted among the villages and suburbs of Stourbridge. Stourbridge's Mary Stevens Park, opened in 1931, has a lake, a bandstand and a cafe.
