Maine Stays / Councils / Rugby
For Rugby housing officersSomewhere proper for the households Rugby places.
A home with a kitchen, a living room and bedrooms, rather than a single room with a shared bathroom.
Placements
How a whole home fits a placement.
Move-on is part of every placement. Agreeing the likely length of stay at the start, then reviewing it as the case develops, keeps the home available for as long as the household needs it.
Temporary accommodation budgets are under pressure across the country. Knowing exactly what a placement includes, from bills to Wi-Fi to cleaning between households, helps officers compare options properly.
The authority
Placements for Rugby.
Rugby Borough Council is the housing authority for Rugby, Hillmorton, Bilton, Dunchurch, Long Lawford, Wolston, Brinklow and Binley Woods.
The borough borders Coventry to the west, where Sullivan Heights and Humber Hub are.
The Rugby borough runs from Rugby town and Hillmorton out to villages such as Wolston, Brinklow and Binley Woods on the Coventry side. Where a household's ties run towards the city, a Coventry home can suit a Rugby placement. Maine Property Solutions looks for whole homes in the borough itself too.

- A fire risk assessment is in place, with detection suited to the home
- The lender, the freeholder and the insurer have agreed in writing to council placements

Questions
Questions officers ask.
Are the homes furnished?
Yes. Homes come furnished, with bills and Wi-Fi included.
Can a stay be extended?
Where the home is free, yes. Extensions are agreed with the council in writing.
Can council staff and contractors book too?
Yes. Council staff, agency teams and contractors working on council projects can book a whole house.
What standard does a home meet before it is offered?
A home is offered for a placement only once its certificates, its fire risk assessment and the written consents are in place.
Can a family with children be placed?
Yes. Family-sized houses with their own kitchen and bathroom are an alternative to bed and breakfast.
Is a placement in your homes outside our district?
Yes, for our Coventry homes. Section 208 of the Housing Act 1996 then requires notice to Coventry City Council as the receiving authority. We can confirm the home's details for that notice.
